McCoy continues to star in scrimmage
Longhorns scrimmage at the stadium
The Texas Longhorns final spring scrimmage is set for next Saturday, but the team got a bit of a dress rehearsal on Saturday morning with a scrimmage at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium.
With numerous positions still open throughout the two-deep on both sides of the ball, Texas head coach Mack Brown was pleased with the competitive fire that came out in one of the most important practices of the entire spring.
"The scrimmage was good," Brown said. "They've gotten after each other. We've got a lot of work to do, we're making a lot of mistakes, but it's a fun team. They're having fun, and it doesn't seem like they're carrying the pressure of last year's team to this point. They know they have a lot to prove. They know they've got to get a lot done, and there's competition at each position."
Even though there's only one week of practice left before the Longhorns wrap things up until August, Brown said that there are still plenty of questions without answers.
"We just see ourselves getting better," Brown said. "The questions we had at the first of spring, we still have. Who are the secondary guys going to be? Who's the offensive line going to be? Who's the second-team quarterback? Who's that back-up tailback? All of those questions, we're getting information on every day to try to help us answer them."
