Brown has a flair for the undramatic
Excitement surrounds the emergence of Demarco Murray and other young players after the first two major scrimmages during spring football practices at The University of Oklahoma.
That excitement is warranted after Murray has run wild every time he's had a chance to deliver in front of fans in the stands. Murray is as flashy as any redshirt freshman we've ever seen in Norman during the Stoops era.
But there is also another player who has been an impressive force in the Sooner backfield. That player has even been a standout on the football field in Big 12 play. That player is sophomore running back Chris Brown.
Brown isn't flashy and few people are talking about the type of spring he's put together. In the Sooners' second scrimmage, Brown rushed for 72 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown.
But because of the way Brown gets his yards, he's often overshadowed by Murray.
