Opening practice a success

The first day of practice was terrific as far as first practices go. The pacing and tempo on both sides of the ball was faster than expected. You can that this group of experienced players put in a lot of work during the off-season.

As far as recruits who showed up it was the best turnout for an opening Bruin practice since I have covered the team.

Bruin commits Anthony Dye, Rahim Moore, Johnathan Franklin, E.J. Woods and Uona Kavienga were on hand to give their future team support.

Milton Knox, Donovan Carter and their Lake Balboa (Calif.) Birmingham teammates were on hand taking in the opening practice.

Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger was also on hand and of course that is Kavienga's team.

One Leuzinger player who passed the look test was is defensive end Otis Jones (6-2, 250). We will get to the bottom of what he's all about for as soon as possible.
