Vanderbilt offers athletic Alabama DE

Morris (Ala.) defensive end John Burrow of Mortimer Jordan High is a hard working, aggressive, second-generation standout that is starting to get college interest from several schools. And not surprisingly, the 6-foot-4.5, 220-pound son of a former All-SEC first teamer has already picked up his first offer from his father's former conference.

"So far Vanderbilt is the only school that's offered," says Burrow. "I've gotten a lot of letters from Louisville, Clemson, UAB, and I've gotten letters from Alabama. With UAB, I talked to the head coach, he came to my school and they've shown a lot of interest.

"With Vanderbilt, they still want to make it finalized. They want to take me up to see the head coach [Bobby Johnson] and they said that then they want to finalize the offer there. So far, they've just shown me a whole lot of interest and they'd like to offer formally.
