Fauria has room to grow at tight end

Jeremiah Ross has heard it before.

When the topic is Joseph Fauria, the 6-foot-8, 242-pound tight end from Encino, Calif., who committed to Notre Dame last month, there's usually background chatter about where the Crespi star will project in college. Fauria has a frame with room to fill out, but his high school coach doesn't forecast a future at offensive tackle.

"I don't see that happening," Ross said. "I think he's athletic enough to be that big tight end. He's obviously not one of those faster kids that's going to catch the ball and make two or three guys miss, but he's surprisingly fast and can cover ground quickly."
