Trio of UConn targets honored at State College

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Perhaps the best example of UConn's rise in the recruiting battle occurred Saturday at Penn State at the State College Nike Training Camp when targets Mike Yancich, Lonnie Liggins and Jared Rains were singled out for their performances by the coaches in attendance.

Yancich, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound outside linebacker, was named the camp's most valuable linebacker after what he said was an excellent set of agility drills.

While Liggins, a 5-foot-9, 175-pounder from Hereford, Md., said he hasn't yet picked up a scholarship offer, he expects that to change with the announcement that he had been named the most valuable running back.
