Claxton talks Badgers

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla.- On Thursday, Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) Boyd Anderson safety Kevin Claxton made a verbal commitment to the University of Wisconsin. The 6-foot-2, 192-pounder talked about his decision before Boyd Anderson's spring jamboree game against Palm Beach Lakes.

"I just felt that I fit into their system," he said. "I like the coaches."

Indeed Claxton's relationship with the Badgers' coaching staff played a huge role in his decision.

"(Badgers co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Dave Doeren) and the defensive backs coach (Kerry Crooks just kept everything real," Claxton said. "They didn't tell me anything that they thought I wanted to hear. They just told me about it."

Claxton felt that the Badgers were the right choice and informed his coach, who informed the Wisconsin coaching staff.

"I told (Boyd Anderson head coach) Mark James that I wanted to commit to Wisconsin and he talked to them and they sent me a text message. They were happy about it."
