Holmes looks like a future pro
Khaled Holmes just might be the closest player out there to being the total package at his position. At 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, the offensive tackle from Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, Calif.) certainly has the ideal size to dominate in the trenches. But he is also highly touted because of his exceptional footwork, long arms, athleticism, speed, maturity and smarts - both on and off the field. Holmes is one of the prize recruits in the class of 2008.
Mater Dei head football coach Bruce Rollinson definitely paints a pretty picture when discussing Holmes' ability on the field. "I put Khaled in that `special' category - he's the whole package. He's in the top five percent of all the great lineman we have sent out," said Rollinson. "Khaled's athletic, has incredible feet and big ol' long arms. And this kid can run. I tell college coaches he's a first day [NFL Draft] pick."
