Oklahoma ATH gets friendly with Iowa St.

The term "athlete" describes Lawton (Okla.) standout Cornelius Douglas not just in terms of his position on the football field, but in his abilities in all sports. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound Douglas plays four sports at Lawton - football, soccer, basketball and track - and would be heavily recruited in other sports if football were not his first choice.

"They have fall and spring [soccer] and I play spring. When soccer is over, I run track and I also play basketball," said Douglas. "I'm real good at soccer. If I didn't go D-I for football, I'd go D-I for soccer."

The other schools that have offered scholarships besides Iowa State are Colorado State, Kansas State, SMU, New Mexico and Tulsa. With his process expected to go on for some time, official visits will be taken this fall and winter. Two schools he knows for sure will receive official visits are Iowa State and Kansas State. At Iowa State, Douglas believes he could be a difference maker.
