WR lists IU among favorites, hopes to visit campus

Florida is a long distance away from Bloomington, but the IU coaching staff has always actively recruited the area.

Usually, quarterbacks coach Matt Canada or safeties coach Mike Yeager are in charge of combing the Sunshine State's high school ranks, but Billy Lynch handles a small segment of the state as well. And it's looking as if the wide receivers coach is courting yet another recruit from Naples, in addition to defensive end Anthony Mains, whom we profiled last week.

J.D. Woods, a 6-2, 185-pound wide receiver from Golden Gate - the same high school as Mains - is also a target of Lynch and the coaching staff.

Woods says he has offers from IU, UAB, West Virginia, Connecticut, Vanderbilt, Syracuse, and he thinks Pittsburgh might be close to offering as well.
