25 Tigers to watch: #2 Chase Daniel

The Missouri Tigers open camp on August 4th, which is now just two days away. Over these 25 days, is counting down the 25 players on the roster who will be most influential in determining just how good the Tigers are this season. To be clear, this is not a list of the 25 best players on the roster. It is not a list of the players that will have the biggest seasons or put up the best numbers. In reverse order, we are counting down the 25 players who we think could have the most influence on the outcome of the 12 games on Missouri's 2007 schedule.

2. Chase Daniel

Why he's on the list: Ummm…because he is the starting quarterback, maybe? Usually on a list like this, the number one guy just has to be the QB. And, in reality, he probably should be on our list. What they will get is at least 30 points a game, a team that leads the nation in number of snaps and numbers from Daniel that will probably surpass the school records he set a season ago. There are two things Daniel will have to show this season: Number one, he has to avoid turnovers in the biggest games of the year. Against Nebraska and Oklahoma, Daniel had six turnovers. That can't happen against those two teams this year. Number two, when Missouri is down and the Tigers absolutely have to have a play or a drive to win the game, Daniel has to deliver. He missed chances to do that against Texas A&M, Iowa State and Oregon State (or at least a chance to ice the game) last season.
