Fall Preview: Defensive Secondary

Much like the case with their defensive front seven, Georgia has had to rebuild their secondary for the 2007 squad, but the good news is that there are plenty of talented players waiting to step up. Here is a quick preview of the Bulldogs cornerbacks and safeties.

Led by senior free safety Kelin Johnson, the Bulldogs return just two starters with the abrupt departure of rising senior Paul Oliver who failed to keep his academic eligibility and entered the NFL's supplemental draft last month. Johnson, who had 60 tackles and two interceptions last season, has emerged in the offseason as one of the team's leaders.

Behind Johnson are a pair of players that will be seeing their first gameday action this fall.
