Countdown to Kickoff: Todd Blythe Q & A
Great player, great interview - what's not to like about Todd Blythe? Iowa State's senior wide receiver, the flagship of a deep and talented fleet at his position, talked about the Cyclones' first scrimmage of the fall on Wednesday evening. Here's a quick Q & A with Blythe where he talks about cleaning up minor mistakes, explosive plays on offense and speed at the receiver positions. The Countdown to Kickoff marches on here at CycloneReport.com.
Todd, what was your take on the scrimmage tonight?
It was good, really good. I think as a whole team we made a lot of strides today. It was good to get out there in a real competitive situation and kind of see what we had. The coaches stepped back and put it on the players like a game. They said go at it, let's see what's you've learned up to this point and where we're at. For the most part, it was a real successful scrimmage.
When is the next scrimmage and what do you do between now and then?
I believe it's Saturday. Just from now until Saturday it's going back to practice and getting in the film room, looking over what we did today and trying to correct the mistakes we made. There were a lot of mistakes out there, for offense, defense, special teams, everybody that played. But we did a lot of good things. It's just a matter of tightening things up and adjusting the things we need to adjust.
