Jones more confident heading into 2007

BOULDER, Colo. - Due to the offense's struggles last season, the Buffaloes' defense was on the field for a lot of plays. It was evident that the defense started to wear down late in games.

"You could see it on film, we were just on the field for too many plays last season," said junior outside linebacker Brad Jones. "We have gone through such a rigorous running and lifting program, though, this off-season. I think even if we played more plays than we did last year we still wouldn't wear down. We went through some grueling workouts this off-season."

Fortunately for Jones and his defensive teammates, the offense has shown marked improvement since last season and should keep them on the sidelines more this fall. "The offense is looking good, we go up against them every day in practice," Jones said. "Our offense is better than they were last year tenfold."

Jones, who started 11 games in 2006 as a sophomore, ranked third on the team with 72 tackles.
