Practice report: Week one in the books

The Missouri Tigers are now one full week into camp, after going through a Friday morning workout on the Kadlec Athletic Fields. As always, has Tiger fans covered with a complete rundown of the day's news and notes.

*William Moore was added to the list of the walking wounded. Moore rolled an ankle yesterday and was held out of competitive contact drills. Missouri now has five starters not practicing.

*Also on the injury front, Gary Pinkel said Van Alexander's hamstring strain was very minimal. "It was very, very positive," Pinkel said. "That's good for him. He's been through some injury adversity so hopefully we can get him back."

*With Moore and Justin Garrett (hip pointer) both battling injuries, Mack Breed was taking the first-team snaps at safety opposite Pig Brown.

*I cannot stress enough how impressive true freshman cornerback Carl Gettis has been. He was moved up to second-team today and I told another reporter, if Mizzou is without Hardy Ricks and Darnell Terrell for the Illinois game, I think Gettis will start opposite Paul Simpson. Pinkel stopped just short of saying Gettis would play.
