Up close with JUCO newcomer Kevin Dixon

Over the course of fall camp, will go up close with each of the newcomers in Nebraska's class of 2007.

Today we caught up with former four-star junior college defensive tackle Kevin Dixon to get his early thoughts and perspectives on fall camp. The 6-foot-3, 280-pound Dixon arrived in Lincoln right before fall camp begin and gave his early thoughts on life in Lincoln and how things are coming along with the season right around the corner.

What's the biggest adjustment so far for you?

"The biggest adjustment, is just getting used to the practice and the tempo - how coach (Bill) Callahan runs things. I had to get in 'Callahan shape.' So that's been the biggest adjustment for me."

What are some things you will bring to the table?

"I bring a high motor and am always getting to the ball - I'm a team player, and I'm always active on and off the field. You know, getting guys encouraged. I'm trying to get used to all the guys. Even though I'm a junior, I'm a newcomer around this place, so I have to, you know, make friends with the teammates so I can have a voice."
