Bruins conclude last practice before Stanford
It's all done but the game. The Bruins concluded their last practice at Spaulding before their opening game and all their hard work this past spring and summer has been for this moment. The coaches and players appear ready for this football game. UCLA wants to start fast and there is nothing like opening against a conference foe that gives you that opportunity.
You either start off with a win and that gets the team off in the right direction for conference play or dig yourself into a hole right out of the gate.
As is customary, UCLA coach Karl Dorrell addressed the media after practice.
How do you feel?
Dorrell: "I feel good. We had a good practice. We were very focused and I think we will be ready to play.
How many quarterbacks are you taking north?
Dorrell: "Two and a hybrid.
Who would be the third quarterback in an emergency?
Dorrell: "Osaar Rasshan.
Any last minute concerns?
Dorrell: "No, I feel great going into this game. We have had a great week of practice. The last two days have been really pretty enthusiastic. They are pretty focused. I think they are anxious to play. They have all the anticipation you want at the beginning of the season is they being excited to play.
"We still have one more day before we play, but we're ready to go. I like what we saw today, good focus, good preparation and I'm anxious to watch them play myself.
