Something special for Quinn Johnson

There had been discussion throughout preseason camp about who would be the starting tailback for LSU.

There was also interest in who would be the third receiver and the starting defensive end opposite Tyson Jackson.

But, not once was there conversation about the fullback position. It was assumed that Shawn Jordan would be in that spot if Jacob Hester moved to tailback.

Well, the Tigers opened the Mississippi State game in the I-formation. Hester was the tailback, but there was a surprise at fullback.

For the first time since his high school days at West St. John, Quinn Johnson was in the starting lineup. Johnson made his first collegiate start at fullback last Thursday in Starkville.
