KU Impressed Lucas

Southeast Louisiana head coach said he is impressed with what he has seen in the Jayhawks play. He knows his team will be in for a big challenge when play in Lawrence this weekend. The Lions coach talks about upcoming game against the Jayhawks.

Talk about last week and this week against Kansas:

"We traveled well last week, we had 28 young men who have never traveled before so we took a lot of puppies with us. Our kids came out and battled well against a good New Mexico State team. What surprised me was how New Mexico State improved on their defensive personal from last year. Their defensive line really got after us up front. They got a lot of pressure on our quarterback, Brian Babin.

It was his first game he has played since high school. He hasn't played in two years. So he had some rust to knock off there. They held us to one first down and 62 yards in the first half. They got after us pretty well. We made some progress in the second half. Our running back Jay Lucas had a good game for us again. Defensively we got after them pretty good, we played well.

We had four interceptions, our cornerbacks Eric Jackson and Demerious Johnson played their best games since they have been here. Devarious had an interception for a touchdown and Jackson had two interceptions. So we got some good pressure on the quarterback and kept them off balance.
