Dorrell sees growth in adversity

The Bruins earned a tough fought victory over BYU on Saturday. The Cougars came to play and were just as physical as expected. The Bruins now stand at 2-0 and are rated 11th in the AP. UCLA head coach Karl Dorrell met with the media Monday afternoon to discuss the BYU and the upcoming Utah game. This is part one of Dorrell's press conference.

"Good afternoon, week three our season and we're going on the road again for the second time this year, we will play Utah and we're anticipating another tough game ahead of us even though they have lost their last two games," Dorrell said. "Before we get into Utah recapping our last game against BYU it was a very hard fought tough win. We have definitely grown from that experience with this team being able to overcome some of the third quarter adversity that seemed to be going against us at that time. We did settle ourselves in and had a great finish for the game.

"It was a very hard fought game. It was a very physical game for both sides and I was really impressed that our players hung in there and didn't panic given the situation on how things were beginning to change for us a little bit in the third quarter.

"It was a good strong finish. "It was a great football game. It was a great physical jaw-to-jaw get after yourselves football game. That's football. You're going to get that and you are going to get those types of things and you just got to be ready to play.

"The bottom line we finished the game and we won it in convincing manner at the end.
