The Trojan Horse
The Cougar football team has been tried in the court of Trojan law and found guilty, in three of the last four years, of not giving USC a proper game - losing by 27, 30 and 42 points - before finally succumbing in a closer, six-point loss last year in Pullman. But this year's game is being held in Los Angeles - site of those 27 and 40-point losses - and USC is the heavy favorite to lay that same kind of licking on the Cougars, creating a possibility of complacency for Trojan players entering the game. But USC head coach Pete Carroll has been there and done that before.
"We've been pretty consistent at home over the years and that's the normal thinking," acknowledges Carroll. "But it hasn't been a problem or issue with us."
