Kansas is ready for the blitz

Quick toughts on Florida International

Mark Mangino spoke with the media Tuesday afternoon, and after a 45-13 win over Toledo, the Jayhawks are preparing for Florida International.

"They have very good team speed on offense, they do a lot of different things with their offensive line in the run schemes." Mangino said. "Coach Cristobal has them going in the right direction. They are a very well disciplined team."


The blitz isn't always good

One thing the Jayhawks have gotten used to is the multiple blitzes both Southeast Louisiana and Toledo brought against the Jayhawks. Mangino expects Florida International to blitz a lot this week, but Mangino noted that blitzing too much has its consequences.

"It seems more and more teams this year are using blitzes to get pressure, but if a guy like Jake Sharp gets past that initial wave, then there will be a lot of space to make something happen." Mangino said.


Big wins still need improvement

While Kansas has looked mostly impressive in their three blowout wins, the Kansas coaching staff still thinks there is improvement to be made.
