Greco to see action Saturday

UCF head coach George O'Leary said Tuesday two quarterbacks will see the field against Memphis on Saturday. The Knights only have one quarterback with any game experience, that being starter Kyle Israel. O'Leary wanted backup Michael Greco to get some snaps in the Texas game, but the opportunity never arose.

"We cannot get through the season without playing two quarterbacks," O'Leary said. "I want to get Greco in and Greco will be playing this Saturday. I am not sure when, but I am going to assign him a time to get in the game. Not because Kyle is doing well or not doing well, but because I think we are going to need two quarterbacks that have game experience going into the conference."

Greco, a one time NC State player, signed with UCF out of Pearl River (Miss.) Community College earlier this year. He enrolled at UCF for summer school, but was limited for most of the preseason with an injury. He didn't begin throwing until the week before the NC State game and has only been seeing increased practice reps for the last couple weeks.

"Greco is just coming back healthy," O'Leary said. "Last week I thought we could have gotten him in. He is back healthy now from the injury and is throwing real well. Now, let's see what he can do, but he will get his opportunity this Saturday."
