FIU expert talks about game

To get an idea on what to expect from the Florida International side we asked Peter Pelegrin, the FIU beat writer for the Miami Herald some questions.


How is Wayne Younger progressing as expected so far?

Younger is not progressing as fast as fans would want, but the redshirt freshman has come a long way from being a scout team quarterback/receiver last season under former FIU head coach Don Strock.

Younger used to throw the football like a baseball last season (in other words very inaccurate) because he played shortstop a lot in high school while also playing quarterback. New offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach James Coley fixed his throwing motion this spring and that helped Younger win the starting quarterback job.
