40 Acres Report: Key player returns

Longhorns get back a key player

If the Texas Longhorns were looking for a shot in the arm heading into Saturday's showdown with arch-rival Oklahoma they might have received one with the return of junior starting defensive end Brian Orakpo.

After missing most of the season, UT's best pass rusher returned to the field in full pads for the first time in weeks on Tuesday.

"I'm excited to get back out there," Orakpo said. "My teammates have been there for me since day one and I had so much fun today getting out there and pass rushing. I'm getting back into the groove of things and getting ready for OU."

Even though Orakpo is just now getting his feet wet after having missed a month of action, there seems to be little doubt about his availability for Saturday.

He's going to play.

"I can't wait to get back out there. We've been waiting for OU all season. I know it's a big game for us and it's a big rivalry," Orakpo said.
