DSA Commit Watch

Another week and another reason to be excited about the future of Duck football. Sometimes in the excitement during college football season, fans forget just how talented the players on the field are. While there is the talk of "sport specialization" at a much earlier age than ever before, most high school football players are still exceptional multi-sport athletes. Some of them are great on the track like Scott Grady winning his 6A Pacific District 100M and 200M titles.

Kelly Page has competed in track but is now considering basketball and baseball as well. John Boyett, all-everything for his football team is also a valuable member of the Napa High Baseball team playing Outfield for a team that included, County Player of the year, County Offensive player of the year, County Coach of the year and County Offensive player of the year.

Every one of our players are exceptional athletes with bright futures who share one thing in common: a commitment to the Oregon Ducks to play football. Here's a look at their most recent week and how they fared.

Scott Grady

For those who live in the state of Oregon, many already know of his exploits. Due to Teacher In-service dates, many of the local Portland teams played football on Thursday night this week. Scott opened up that game with an impressive 97 yard Kick off return for a touchdown. This would not be the end of the fireworks for Grady and his Tigard teammates. Leading his team to an impressive 55-34 victory, Scott rushed, over around and through Forest Grove to the tune of 21 carries for 216 yards and an additional 4 TD's rushing. This is his second 5 TD performance of the season having scored that many times against Bethel of Spanaway in the first game of the season.

For the season the Tigers have improved to 3-3 with a 2-0 league mark. Scott has 81 carries for 811 yards and 10 Rush TD's he has an additional 2 TD receptions and 1 return TD scoring an astonishing 13 TD's so far. Considering he has played a full game only three times this season, all of which he exceeded 200 yards rushing, he is having a nice season so far.
