Another Long Beach Poly prospect visiting U-M

How a program the caliber of Long Beach (Calif.) Poly can have not just one, but two talented safety prospects slip under the radar until late in the recruiting process is unclear. For 6-3, 215-pound Poly safety Herman Davidson, though, now is better than never.

Davidson played his freshman season at Woodrow Wilson High School before transferring to Poly as a sophomore. He starred mostly on the offensive side of the football until this fall where he has teamed with four-star safety Vaughn Telemaque in the Jackrabbits' defensive backfield.

Davidson and Telemaque are also being recruited by many of the same schools. They have each taken official visits to North Carolina, Telemaque in October and Davidson last weekend, and will both officially visit Michigan on Nov. 17.

Davidson said he was wide open and not favoring any school at this time. He holds offers from North Carolina and San Diego State and is also hearing frequently from the likes of Boise State, Washington State, Nebraska, Oregon and Colorado State.
