Future Bulldog WR leaves Starkville in awe

While a lot of focus over the last few days has been on potential Bulldog recruits that attended Saturday's game, one player who had already given his pledge to State made it in for his first game and brought his parents with him, his mother's first trip to campus. The electric atmosphere was more than Charles Bailey bargained for and the whole experience set in well with his family.

"The visit went great," he began. "We got in there Friday and we went over to the game. That was my mom's first time going there, so we just drove around and got out and walked around and saw the campus. On Saturday we got up early and got there about 8:30 and it was ridiculous. By the time we got there, everybody was out there. The recruiting center opened up at 9:30 and we went in there, talked to the coaches, then the game started. It was an amazing visit."

Although taking in the whole weekend, this was an unofficial visit for Bailey, but he is scheduled to return on Jan. 17 for his official trip. He and his father had already visited the campus, but had never seen a game there. His mother had never been to Starkville, so the family used the time to get acquainted with the whole college experience.

"My dad was amazed," Bailey said. "He went up with me on junior day back in April and he was pretty impressed with that. It was our first time back and it was impressive to see all the fans and how everything went and my mom loved the campus too. That was her first time. She had no clue how big it was and she kept asking me if I was going to be alright by myself living on such a big campus.

"We drove around the town a little bit to see how the outside setting was, the outside campus life. We went to a few restaurants to eat and see how the food was, just to see how the everyday living was.
