Notebook: Tigers back to work Tuesday

Just a few days following a disappointing loss at Georgia, Auburn was back on the practice fields Tuesday morning. But it wasn't the typical Tuesday workout when the Tigers are usually in full pads for a physical two-plus hour workout.

Instead, AU practiced for 90 minutes in shells and will do so for the remainder of the week according to head coach Tommy Tuberville.

"We'll focus this week more on fundamentals, technique," said Tuberville. "We need to mentally get back to reality. These guys are pretty much spent on putting in gameplans, listening and looking at film.

"Most of what we're going to do this week is try to get them back to being 19-, 20-year-old guys and understand that there is a life out of football so they can get refreshed and rejuvenated. It looked like we kind of hit the wall about the middle of the third quarter last week."

While opinions were mixed, most players are looking forward to the off-week after playing 11 straight games to start the regular season. The only drawback was not being able to erase the Georgia loss with a game this weekend.
