Sooners extend latest receiver offer
It's surprising to think of it but there are few places in the country Oklahoma has had a better success rate of offer-to-commitment than the greater area around Austin, Texas. The latest offer from the home of Oklahoma's chief rival has been extended towards a player who shares the same name as Oklahoma's most famous product from the Lone Star capital.
This time the Sooners have gone to Lyndon B. Johnson high school to offer two-way standout Derrick Grant. Not surprisingly Grant is another in the long line of lesser known names unearthed by Bobby Jack Wright.
Grant, who recently moved to a three-star prospect, has been recruited by schools at both wide receiver as well as defensive back. However it's clear the Sooners like him handling the football.
While he is still a bit unsure if he will be in Norman the Saturday after next he has no doubt where he will be this Saturday. LBJ will be playing their opening round playoff games against a talented Brenham squad.
Not surprisingly while all of this is going on Grant is in no hurry to make a decision. In fact he has a second official visit to take before he can make any kind of decision.
