Walker gets to relish the road one last time

Marcus Walker makes his final return trip to Lubbock, Texas this weekend as part of a Sooner secondary that will be a big part of OU's success or failure against the Mike Leach spread offense.

Walker heads into the Texas Tech showdown playing as well as anyone in the defensive backfield but plenty of raucous fans and talented receivers such as Michael Crabtree await the senior cornerback. Editor Carey Murdock caught up with Walker to talk about Crabtree, the Tech offense and his last true road game of his Sooner career. I was talking a little bit to Reggie Smith about both you guys at cornerback this year and it seems like we haven't heard a lot of talk about you guys the last month of the season which could be a good thing. No one notices you guys out there a lot for any really bad things lately. Does it feel like you guys have been playing as well as you have together since you've been here?
Marcus Walker:
As far as making those interceptions and all those pass deflections, personally I haven't made those plays this year. I haven't had the chance to make those plays. But that's in the game. Have people kind of stopped testing you at corner? Do they just stay away from you?
I don't know man. I really don't get into that. I just try and focus every play and do my assignment. I don't get into how many times they throw my way. I just try and go out and play to my capability every play. I have never been a guy that worried about interceptions or pass deflections or stats. That's never been a part of my thing. I'm into just getting the win. As long as we're winning, that's the main thing for me.
