Winning in Waco
Oklahoma State is a win away from reaching the bowl plateau.
But to get there, the Cowboys have to go through Waco, Texas, to do it.
Easy money, right?
Not when factoring in the last game the Pokes played there, a 44-33 win by Baylor on Nov. 19, 2005. For those who have successfully buried memories of that game way back in the corner of their minds, here's a quick refresher: The Bears jumped out to a 38-7 lead by halftime, abusing the Pokes for committing five first-half turnovers. For the game, OSU handed it over to BU eight times. The Cowboys scored 27 points in the second half to make it close toward the end, but there were too many mistakes to overcome and the Bears posted their first victory over OSU since a 14-10 win in Waco in 1994.
That trip is a tough one to forget for Cowboys who were on the roster that season.
"I just remember basically them beating the dog out of us, putting points all over us," Nathan Peterson said. "It was a high-scoring game. We tried to make a run at the end, but it was just a really bad game all-around."
