Central advances to states finals

It wasn't the prettiest game, but football isn't a game for the pretty boys. Pittsburgh Central Catholic made a return to the Quad-A state championship game, with a 14-6 win over a tough Harrisburg team, at Altoona's Mansion Park Stadium.

The game saw a combined 195 yards of total offense from both teams, on 99 total plays. The two teams combined to go 2-of-24 on third downs, with the Vikings converting both of those third downs. The Cougars converted six first downs, while the Vikings converted five. It wasn't a matter of the teams playing poorly on offense, as it was both teams putting forth a stellar effort on defense.
