Franklin has high expectations for offense

Tony Franklin is just beginning to implement his spread offensive system and he's inherited an Auburn team that's been built around a power running game for the last nine seasons.

But AU's new offensive coordinator is not about to make excuses are talk about a long-term plan.

"To me, there's no excuse not to be a great offense here and immediately," said Franklin. "I don't believe in long term, wait 'til we've got three years to recruit our guys and all of that. That's not for me.

"From the day I get here, I expect them to be good."

Franklin has used AU's five bowl practices to implement parts of his offense into what AU's current system. Exactly how much of Franklin's spread offense will actually be used in the Chick-fil-A Bowl has remained a mystery.
