Long-term Prognosis

CornerbackGilmer, TexasHarris has plenty of athleticism, but probably not enough o make up for his extremely long and lean frame. He'll need a year, and maybe two, in the Sooner weight program before he can start to become the physical defensive back that Oklahoma likes. When you look at players like Jamell Fleming and Jonathan Nelson it's clear that Oklahoma likes players capable of coming up in run support, probably the thing Harris needs the most work on.In the long run Harris has a chance to be a very good cornerback for Oklahoma, his athleticism along with a solid work ethic lends itself to a solid future. Harris is a bit raw as a cornerback after spending most of his senior year on the offensive side of the ball but has the athletic ability and frame to be a top flight corner in a few years time, particularly considering Oklahoma's lack of many young corners.
