Cali quarterback talks about Iowa St.
It is the dream of nearly every high school football player to be able to take their game to the college level. That dream started to become reality for Oceanside (Calif.) quarterback Jordan Wynn in the spring of his junior season when he received his first ever recruiting letter, and it came from Iowa State.
Many more letters have come through since that first one nearly a year ago and more of those have been from Iowa State. Last week the Cyclones took a step up with their interest in the 6-foot-2, 195-pound signal caller, extending a scholarship offer.
"It's still in the mail right now," said Wynn. "Coach [Tony] Peterson, I got off the phone with him and they had all sat down and watched my tape. He said I am clear and the offer would be in the mail and I should be getting it any day now."
In his junior season, Wynn completed 166 of 283 passes for 2,589 yards and 21 touchdowns against just eight interceptions. He sees Iowa State's offense as another positive about the program.
Utah has also extended a scholarship offer to Wynn and more schools look to be on their way. Purdue, Colorado, Northwestern and Purdue are some of the schools he said have been recruiting him hard and another school popped onto his radar this week.
