Hall picks up Sun Devil offer on Junior Day

One of the visitors to Arizona State's Junior Day left with more than just a good impression. Tucson (Ariz.) Palo Verde Magnet athlete Adam Hall was given a verbal scholarship offer from head coach Dennis Erickson while on campus.

"They really had never seen me before until the day before when they watched my film," Hall said of the Sun Devils. "Coach just said that everyone was impressed and I talked to him about it. We talked to the other coaches and my (possible) position coaches and they all were saying, 'We really want you here.'

"It was a really nice experience. There were a lot of people there. I got to meet a lot of the coaches. Everyone was real friendly. The facilities were really nice. I learned a lot. The coach coaches were reasonable and got along with their players and I liked that. The scrimmage was intense and guys were competing.

"I came in expecting a lot because it's ASU and all the stuff they've accomplished in the past years. I was impressed with all that was going on with the school, campus and facilities. It was a good day overall."

At 6-foot-4, 195 pounds, Hall plays wide receiver and free safety for his high school. With his frame and athletic ability he could project to a number of positions at the next level.

"We talked about offense and defense (at ASU) and the coaches were kind of jokingly fighting over me," Hall said. "I wasn't to surprised by the offer because I talked to my recruiting coach (Dan Cozzetto) and he said, 'We're really interested in you and we really want to see you so try to make it down here.' I felt like that meant that I had a chance to get a scholarship."

Hall has also picked up an offer from Arizona, with Colorado and Oregon State also talking about a potential scholarship.

"I'm going to make a couple more visits to schools this summer like camps and I think maybe another junior day," Hall said. "Recruiting is going pretty smooth. I wasn't expecting some of the stuff at first and how it just comes about. Things are kind of sporadic and they just happen. It keeps you on your toes. You never know exactly what's going to happen and when it happens it settles you down a bit. I don't really have a favorite school. I'm looking at a lot of schools and there are a lot of things that are keeping me interested in a lot of schools so we'll just see what happens.

"I'm pretty sure I'm going to go through the official visits and go through the whole nice yards. It helps you get a better feel. Coming to unofficial visits are good but there's a lot more behind the scenes that you get a feel for (during official visits). That's what other players have told me and it makes sense. So I just want to be able to have that experience."
