Rookie Impact Players: No. 1 Markus White

Most of Florida State's 2008 recruiting class has already arrived on campus. Many of these rookie players won't have much time to get acclimated to college life and will be counted on to contribute immediately. Fortunately for FSU there are some talented newcomers that are capable of jumping right in the mix. Based on voting from the staff at Warchant.com and Osceola, we will count down the top six impact newcomers for the upcoming season.

No. 5 - RB Tavares Pressley

No. 4 - WR Jarmon Fortson

No. 3 - LB Nigel Bradham

Markus White (6-4/250) Lake Worth, FL (Butler County CC in Kansas)
Position: Defensive End

Jersey Number: 98

Class this fall: Redshirt Sophomore (three to play three)

Recruiting Ranking: Five-star per Rivals.com, (#3 overall in JUCO, #2 DE).

JUCO Stats: Led the NJCAA with 26 quarterback sacks and also led the nation with six forced fumbles. He also recorded 97 tackles, including 15 tackles for loss.

JUCO Accolades: NJCAA defensive player of the year and earned first-team All-American, all-Jayhawk Conference and all-Region VI post-season honors.

40-yard dash/Vertical: 4.55 seconds (reported) / 30" vertical jump

Notable: Helped his Butler team to a 12-0 record and the 2007 NJCAA National Title. In his final game he had eight tackles, two for a loss, a sack, a pass deflection and a blocked PAT in defeating the No. 1 team in the country…was named the game's defensive MVP.
