Bruin Bits from the sideline

Monday saw the return to action for Ben Olson. As always when he throws on time, he is unbeatable. His velocity is at a different level of all the quarterbacks out there. At one point Olson hit two strait touchdown passes.

The first one he hit Logan Paulsen on an inside seam route in stride and though there were defenders in the area the ball had too much getty up. Paulsen almost dropped the ball, but showed good focus, held onto the ball.

The second ball was right on the money to Marcus Everett right over the head of Aaron Ware who probably could have made a play if he would have looked up. Everett had a good day probably his best since the workouts started.

Case in point was when cornerback Alterraun Verner batted down a pass from incoming freshman quarterback Kevin Prince. It appeared for a moment that Prince was going to hit walk-on David Martini in stride, but Verner played it perfectly and batted down the ball.
