Video: Vasser's Everywhere

Chestatee may have lost the game, but it was not because of the play of linebacker Chase Vasser. The Georgia commitment was all over the field when the War Eagles fell to Gainesville in game one of the 2008 season.

At 6-foot-4, 219 pounds, people may not think Vasser can move as well as does. He showed on play one that he can run when he caught 2010 receiver Tailer Jones down the field 30 yards to save a touchdown.

His speed, versatility, and size are three things that stood out during this game. He was around the ball all night and while his solo tackles may not have been high, he got to the ball, and was in the plays quite often against a wide open spread offense.

Vasser had a tough task much of the night as well when he had to spy the Gainesville QB Blake Sims. Sims is very athletic, very quick, and Vasser did a nice job with that assignment.

Quick Notes: Vasser will be graduating early and enrolling at the University of Georgia this January. One of his goals in 2008 is to have 200 tackles. He opened the season with around 20 total tackles, so he is off to a good start.
