Media Day Notes: Moving on to OSU

Moving on means turning attention to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Any discussion of the Pokes starts with the offense and all-purpose standout Dez Bryant. Bryant ranks second in the Big 12 in scoring and receiving yards per game. He has scored twice on kick returns this season.

Every Tiger knows about Bryant, but linebacker Sean Weatherspoon knows him a little bit better than most. Weatherspoon played his high school ball in Jasper, TX; Bryant was just 56 miles up the road in Lufkin.

"I played against him a few times in 7-on-7 tournaments and things like that, but never on a Friday night," Spoon said. "He's been in my house before. He's kind of like a friend of the family. His brother and my brother went to school together."

Weatherspoon knows that his old acquaintance is one of the biggest offensive weapons in the Big 12.

"They try to get the ball in his hands a lot," the Tiger junior said. "The deep ball is one of his great attributes. He has great jumping ability. They just try to get him the ball any way they can."

If the Tigers are to slow down OSU's offense-which comes in averaging 540 yards and 52.6 points-Weatherspoon might have to schedule a few re-introductions to Bryant.
