Lott left Athens with zero regrets
Derrick Lott surprised many last Wednesday when he made a verbal commitment to the University of Georgia. The Bulldogs had been recruiting him for months, but the offer did not come until less than a week before his decision. Lott visited Athens for the first time as a commitment and he left excited about his future.
"The game was great, my visit was great, and it feels great to be a Bulldog," said Lott after his visit to Athens. "I am very happy with my decision and it was exciting to be there on Saturday."
One part Lott loved was the fans. He was recognized by many of the Bulldog Nation and they made him like part of the family already.
"The fans were coming up to me telling me congratulations, saying thanks for picking Georgia, and they treated me like a Georgia player. It made me feel good."
The coaches were basically the same, but he could tell a little difference when talking with them too now that he is committed.
"It seemed a little more relaxed when talking to the coaches. I was always comfortable with them, but it was a little more relaxing this time. I talked to all of the caches and they talked to me the same way as they had and it was nice talking with them knowing I will be playing there."
