Following the Future: Trojan Commits

As USC ran through Washington State for a 69 point shutout, Trojan commitments continued to dominate under the Friday night lights.

Players like Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft junior running back D.J. Morgan and Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne safety Byron Moore were looking to rebound from their first losses of the season.

  • Matt Barkley - 6-foot-3, 225-pounds quarterback

    Mater Dei 42, Servite 21: Matt Barkley completed 21 of 25 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns. For the first time in a long time, Barkley wasn't sacked in four quarters of play.

    Mater Dei (4-2) will play JSerra this week

  • Randall Carroll - 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver

    Cathedral 42,Sacred Heart 0: Another blow out win for Cathedral, as Randall Carroll caught three passes for 24 yards and had four carries for 20 yards.

    Cathedral (6-0) will play St. Bernard next Friday.

  • Vontaze Burfict - 6-foot-2, 240-pound linebacker

    Corona Centennial 38, King 8: The Huskies beat King by almost the exact same score as they beat Roosevelt last week. Vontaze Burfict was credited with 17 tackles and contributed to this week's nine tackles for losses performance.

    Centennial (6-0) plays Riverside Poly next.

  • Patrick Hall - 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete

    St. Bonaventure 44, Buena 9: Birdy Hall had the game's opening touchdown run. Teammate Troy Hill (a standout at the RSC) had a critical interception in the redzone.

    Next week the Seraphs (5-1) will take on Ventura
