Roberson wants an offer from MSU

Playing for a small Class 1A school in rural Mississippi, sometimes it's hard to get noticed.

But not if you are East Webster tight end/ middle linebacker Tanner Roberson.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder has already been offered a scholarship to Army and is receiving interest from Mississippi State and Ole Miss as well.

"Recruiting has been going alright," Roberson said. "Ole Miss has been keeping in touch, State's keeping in touch and Army actually offered me. They offered me about a week ago to come up there and play. But State and Ole Miss are the main ones that are keeping in touch with me."

The Black Knights are the only school to offer Roberson thus far but he hopes something else opens up more locally.

"It's a really good opportunity," Roberson said of his scholarship to Army. "But it's so far away in New York. I'd like to stay in Mississippi somewhere. But Army is a really good opportunity to go up there to New York. I'm seriously considering going especially if I don't get any other offers."

Roberson would like to join his current teammate Jonathan Banks at the next level right down the road in Starkville.
