Homecoming: Just win, baby

In the past, Auburn may have used games against a I-AA opponent to rest its starters or even spend part of the week getting ready for an upcoming SEC game.

But not this year's Tigers who are just trying to break a four-game losing streak.

"We're not a good enough team yet to just say we're going to go out and play and rest everybody and hopefully win the game and get 'em ready for next week," AU head coach Tommy Tuberville said.

Tuberville and his coaches are putting in extra work building up the team's confidence. Auburn had lost back-to-back games just once in the previous four seasons before this year's streak.

"It's been a while since we've walked (off) that field knowing that we have a win," receiver Tim Hawthorne said. "A win against anybody would just really get us back on the right track. Hopefully, just propel us for the rest of the season.

"We got three games left and if we take care of business Saturday that will give us great motivation for the remaining two."

UT Martin enters the game 7-2 and tied for first place in the OVC Conference. The Skyhawks are averaging 40.7 points per game led by three SEC transfers.
