Croom's Tuesday Press Conference

Mississippi State and Arkansas both have struggled for wins this season.

MSU enters Saturday's matchup with a 3-7 mark while the Razorbacks sport a 4-6 overall record. The two teams are both 1-5 within the Southeastern Conference.

The Bulldogs will try to end their home schedule on a positive note by hosting Arkansas Saturday as part of Senior Day.

"This is our last home game," said State head coach Sylvester Croom. "Our team and Arkansas' team has been through some struggles this year. It's a conference game; we've got two conference games left. It's a big game for both teams. We haven't beaten Arkansas in several years."

The Bulldogs haven't beaten Arkansas in the past nine attempts but this season will be the first time Croom and Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino have met head-to-head.

"Bobby is more of a 3-5 step drop, rhythm passing game where in the past they've run the ball more because of the backs that they have had," Croom said. "They've got a good back but they don't have (Darren) McFadden and (Felix) Jones. I think that has been the biggest difference. Last year they ran the ball a lot more and this year they are throwing it a lot more."

Croom had been impressed with that maturation of Razorback quarterback Casey Dick this season. Dick has completed 57-percent of his passes for 2,389 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions this season.
