FSU-Maryland: Preview, Keys To Victory & Prediction
With the last week's upset loss to Boston College the Florida State football team again finds its back against the wall. With high flying Florida on the schedule for the regular season finale, the Seminoles desperately need a win at Maryland on Saturday to finally get over the 7-win hump and to ensure a berth in a respectable bowl game. A loss could mean finishing the regular season with three straight defeats, a 7-win regular season, and a bowl trip to Boise, San Francisco, Charlotte, or Nashville.
Everything the Seminole coaching staff has worked for the since last February's mat drills could be in jeopardy if FSU continues the trend of losing at College Park. And the task will be a tall one since the 'Noles haven't left Maryland with a win since 2002 and the Terrapins have been a perfect 6-0 in Byrd Stadium this season.
"We have to forget what happened and we can still have a heck of a season," quarterback Christian Ponder said. "We are still in the race for the ACC championship and we have to get that message across to the whole team. We can finish up strong and do well."
