Georgia makes an impression on Jay

One of Georgia's top targets traveled down to Athens from his home in Greenville (S.C.) Saturday for an all day visit to the classic city. J.K. Jay has heard about the University of Georgia, but he got to see what it was like for himself when he spent over 11 hours on campus.

"I got to Georgia at 9:18am and I went up to meet Coach [Stacy] Searels in his office," said Jay. "I talked with him a little bit before he left to go to Coach Fab's (Jon Fabris) father's funeral."

"After talking with Coach Searels, I went down to meet with Coach Van (UGA strength coach Dave Van Halanger) and I talked with him for about an hour or so. I left there and went to the academic center to talk with Mrs. Rhonda Kilpatrick. I talked to her for about two hours about the academic program at Georgia before they took me on a tour of the campus."

"After I saw the campus, I got to see the dorms and they were sweet. I love how it scans your hand to let you in. I saw kicker Blair Walsh's dorm and I got to meet Geno Atkins and another defensive end while there."

"I then went to eat lunch and I met Coach Searels, Coach [Mike] Bobo, Coach [Mark] Richt, and Ben Jones there. When we finished eating, I went back and met with Coach Richt. He talked to me and my dad for about two and a half hours."

"When we finished talking with Coach Richt I went back to meet with Coach Searels again. We went over the depth chart, he showed me the drills he puts his linemen through at practice, and he talked to me about his plans for developing linemen at Georgia. We talked for about an hour and a half."

"I got to tour the facilities at Georgia after that and then I met back up with Coach Searels for dinner. He brought his wife and his two daughters. About 7:45pm I drove over to the stadium and we drove right onto the field and as soon as I stepped out, the Georgia highlight film started playing and it was awesome. Me and my dad walked around the field under the lights and it was great."
