Lichtenberg recaps Iowa visit
With Iowa State searching for a new head coach up until yesterday, Bettendorf offensive lineman Kyle Lichtenberg decided to explore his options a little bit. This weekend, the 6-foot-6, 245-pound Lichtenberg, who committed to the Cyclones back in May, took an official visit to Iowa City.
Lichtenberg's hosts on the official visit were offensive linemen James Ferentz and Bryan Bulaga. Along with spending time with the players, the three-star prospect also had a chance to sit down and talk with the Iowa coaching staff, who have told him it is a no pressure situation.
Ironically, Lichtenberg found out who would be taking over at Iowa State while in Iowa City this weekend as the Cyclones named Paul Rhoads as their new head coach on Saturday.
Lichtenberg, who remains committed to Iowa State, has not had a chance to speak with Rhoads yet, but plans to shortly. Currently, he is looking at a possible January 23 official visit to Ames, where he hopes to get to know the new coaching staff.
Rivals.com ranks Lichtenberg as a three-star prospect and the No. 5 top player in the state of Iowa this year.
