Sanders talks about his MSU commitment

Dan Mullen's pursuit of top-notch wide receivers pulled in two more commitments over the weekend.

One of those pledges came from speedy three-star prospect Ricco Sanders of nationally known Brynes High School in South Carolina.

Sanders was not really on the Bulldogs radar until Dan Mullen and John Hevesy came on board after the season. Both men were attempting to woo the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder while at Florida but instead convinced him to follow them to Starkville.

"I've got a good relationship with both those coaches," Sanders said. "They have both been recruiting me for a while and have gotten to know them really well. I can open up to them more than the rest of the coaches because I feel comfortable with them."

Sanders took his only official visit to the Starkville campus this past weekend and decided to make it his home for the next four years on Saturday.

"I made a lot of friends this weekend and it was a great environment," Sanders aid. "I made up my mind that I wanted to sign with Mississippi State. I want to help this program be in the running for national titles."

Winning is something Sanders knows plenty about. He helped his school squad win two consecutive state championships. He hauled in 27 passes for 477 yards and five touchdowns during his senior campaign and as a junior, Sanders caught 58 passes for 908 yards and 13 touchdowns.
